The IDEA Turns 50!

On November 29, 1975, President Gerald Ford signed the Education for All Handicapped Children Act (Public Law 94-142) into law. An amendment to Public Law 94-142 in 1990 renamed the law the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
